Sims 3 Legacy - Testing Towns - Isla Paradiso

Isla Paradiso has a very nice name. It makes me think of Isla Fisher and Paradiso icecreams, both of which are nice.

It turns out Paradiso was a NZ icecream only. The rest of you missed out. Sad.

However, I've played this town before, and it sucked. It was SO LAGGY. Like, two to three second freeze. Of course, this was when it was brand new, when I got Island Paradise (which, to be honest, has been my least favourite expansion pack so far) so it might have gotten better since then. You know, updates and shit.

Let's see. Okay, first off there's a legacy lot not TOO far from town, so that's good. I've put Mike in there.

Sick view, but he's staring at his phone. ONE OF US.

It takes a little while to get into town, but it's not that bad. Not as bad as Hidden Springs, definitely doable. And so far I haven't noticed any lag. But I don't think I'll base my legacy here. Why? Because of the islands.

I knew they were there. It's IN THE NAME.

It's kind of like Midnight Hollow in that you have to have a certain TYPE of game here. Like, summer will be perfect here, but what about winter? It's got to be a Caribbean kind of game. Also, some workplaces are on those islands. If one of Mike's descendants fancies being a scientist, they'll have to take a boat to work. I will speak for them and say that they don't fancy that.

I just wanted another excuse to use this gif.

I am all for this town, but not for a legacy. Not for my legacy, anyway. You do whatever you want.

Isla Paradiso

Pros:

  • Legacy lot fairly close to town
  • Combined rabbit holes
  • Exciting new stuff you don't get in other towns (Kraken, houseboats, resorts, whaaaaat!)
Cons
  • Can't really see winter working there. And I like four seasons.
  • Some rabbitholes on islands only
  • Not many empty lots to put your own stuff in
6/10. I'll probably go for one of the others. No, I will.

Next up...I think I've made my decision...
